The Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation has awarded nearly $32,000 in classroom grants to fund 47 teacher projects across the district, impacting more than 10,000 students.
All Broken Arrow teachers were eligible to apply for grants aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for their students. Winning projects were selected by a committee of BAPS Foundation members based on the number of students impacted and the projects' creativity.
"In a time when we ask so much of our teachers, both physically and emotionally, we see it as our responsibility to support them in the classroom,” said BAPS Foundation President Jeni Dolan. “By providing resources for their day-to-day needs, we help create a positive experience not only for them but also for the students they inspire every day."
Grant highlights include:
A sensory garden and habitat
A playground communications board
Rhythmic Rebounds (a creative blend of PE and music with rhythm basketball)
New for the 2024-25 school year, the BAPS Foundation introduced Amazon as a purchasing option to stretch grant funds even further.
"Amazon offers a wide range of quality products at competitive prices, which was hard to overlook,” said Dolan. “While price changes can be a challenge, the significant savings and convenience Amazon provides made it a valuable resource. This step allowed us to maximize the impact of every dollar spent for our district."
