At a board meeting held in the new Broken Arrow Event Center, Travis Hill was officially hired as the new varsity football coach for the Tigers. With an impressive record of success and a reputation for developing student athletes both on and off the field, Hill is eager to return to Tiger territory.
Coach Hill brings three decades of coaching experience, including a long tenure at East Central High School from 1998 to 2011 where he had an overall record of 138-34, three state finals appearances, and an OSSAA Class 5A state title in 2005. No stranger to Broken Arrow, Coach Hill also previously served as defensive coordinator at Broken Arrow High School from 2017-2019, helping the Tigers claim the OSSAA Class 6A-I state title in 2018. Most recently, Hill served as the head football coach at Muskogee High School from 2021-2024 with an overall record of 36-13 and back-to-back trips to the OSSAA Class 6A-II state championship game; winning the title in 2023.
“We are excited to welcome back Travis, Jana, Tyler and Madison to the Tiger family,” said Broken Arrow Public Schools Executive Director of Athletics Dr. Dustin Smith. “Coach Hill’s leadership, his proven track record of building championship programs and his passion for the entire Broken Arrow community makes him the ideal choice to elevate our football program.”
Under Coach Hill’s leadership, Broken Arrow aims to build a legacy of athletic excellence while fostering a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic achievement.
“I am honored to be back in the Broken Arrow family,” Hill said. “This program has a rich history and a supportive community, and I’m excited to work with these talented student athletes to achieve great things on the field and in the community.”
Coach Hill met with the players immediately following the board meeting to introduce himself and outline the expectations and first steps for the off-season. To see more about this announcement, watch the press conference here.
