EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION: We are excited to announce that Christin Albertson from Lynn Wood Elementary and Ashley Carter from Broken Arrow High School have been recognized with this year's BEST APPLE AWARD by our child nutrition department! This prestigious award is granted based on attendance and public nominations. Congratulations to these exceptional employees! We feel fortunate to have such dedicated individuals at BA!
The Visual Arts teachers are proud to present the Fall 2024 Virtual Art Show! Students from across the district in grades K-12 have been working tirelessly on special projects and now they are all gathered in one place! Check out their incredible works at https://sites.google.com/baschools.org/bapsartshow2024/home
Third grade students recently attended an assembly hosted by Broken Arrow High School students who shared the importance of being a T.I.G.E.R (Tenacity, Integrity, Gratitude, Expectations and Respect) through skits, songs and videos! We love seeing our upperclassmen inspire their younger peers—and to witness the excitement as the younger ones motivate their role models in return.
On Oct. 30, nearly 1,500 7th graders from each middle school across our district gathered at the Broken Arrow Event Center for our inaugural “Sky is the Limit” Aviation & Aerospace Career Fair! With almost 30 vendors on site, students engaged in hands-on activities and discovered the world of aviation, an industry that ranks as Oklahoma's 2nd largest.
Students experienced flight simulators, learned about drones and their essential roles at organizations like the Broken Arrow Police Department and Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO), and heard from some of our city’s large employers, such as FlightSafety International and CymSTAR, showcasing how Broken Arrow leads in innovation and engineering. We were also excited to have our Board of Education Vice President, Jerry Denton, join us with Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. to highlight future career pathways in aviation. Additionally, representatives from local colleges and Tulsa Tech were on hand to discuss education opportunities available to students right here in Oklahoma. Students from Vanguard Academy of Broken Arrow were also there to highlight Robotics and their flight simulator.
A huge thank you to our vendors and partners for making this event possible! We’re grateful to Chick-fil-A at 71st and Lynn Lane for donating 150 boxed meals to our hardworking volunteers, and to Civil Air Patrol's Oklahoma Wing and WeStreet Credit Union for their generous sponsorships.
At Broken Arrow Public Schools, the sky is truly the limit! This was an unforgettable day that will inspire the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals.
Broken Arrow Freshman Academy students recently teamed up with fourth graders from Spring Creek Elementary to explore creative writing and sentence structure. Using "The Important Book" as inspiration, they co-wrote about what makes our district special, inspiring each other along the way!
This collaboration allowed both groups to learn from each other, with older students inspiring younger ones—and vice versa. We love seeing our students connect and grow!
Welcome to Fine Arts Friday! Today we are honoring students from the Broken Arrow Theatre program at the high school! At the recent OSSAA 6A One-Act Northeastern Regional, students Addy Roden and Victoria Parker were chosen for the all-star cast for their work in "Into The Forests Of The Night," where the overall cast took fourth. At the Union One-Act competition a few weeks earlier, students Patrick O'Brien and Tatum Stiles were also chosen as all-star cast members. Congratulations to everyone!
GOOD NEWS: Broken Arrow High School student John Roskob was recently named a National Merit Commended Student! Hooray!
