The purpose of Rosewood's library/media center is to provide a program that assists students in developing an awareness of the knowledge that is available and the skills needed to acquire and process this information. This program will also promote an appreciation of literature and the life-long enjoyment of reading.
Hours
Monday - Friday: 9:10 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
Checkout Policy
Students may check out books for one week. They may renew their book for an additional week if they need more time to finish reading it. The number of books they may check out varies by grade level:
Kindergarten - may check out one book
1st - 5th Grades - may check out two books
If students need additional books for research and/or reading pleasure, arrangements may be made with the media specialist.
Overdue Policy
Books are due back in one week. There are no fines for overdue books but books that are permanently lost or damaged must be paid for as soon as possible. If a lost book is paid for and then found before the end of the school year the students may either keep the book or return it for a full refund.

Sequoyah Book Master List
With this award, Oklahoma honors the Native American leader Sequoyah, for his unique achievement in creating the Cherokee syllabary. Sequoyah chose eighty-five symbols to represent all spoken sounds of the Cherokee language. In so doing, he created a way to preserve his people's language and culture.
The books on the Sequoyah Masterlist are selected by the Sequoyah Reading Teams. Criteria for selections include: published 3 years prior to the award date, author lives in the United States, originality, literary quality, interest, appeal, and developmentally appropriate for the age level.
The Sequoyah Book Award Program encourages the students of Oklahoma to read books of literary quality. Students in grades 3-5 who have read or listened to at least three (3) titles from the masterlist are eligible to vote for the Children's Sequoyah Book Award.
Winners are announced in April and the winning author is invited to an award presentation at the Oklahoma Library Association's Annual conference.
