The Library/Media Center strives to help students to develop a love of reading and to become life-long learners. Students may check out library books daily. Each class at Vandever also attends a weekly library class to participate in story time or in a library skills lesson. In addition, our library works to assist students and teachers in becoming effective users of ideas and information by providing access to all materials that enrich and support the curriculum of the school.
Hours

Checkout Policy
Students may check out books for one week. They may renew their book for an additional week if they need more time to finish reading the book. The number of books they may check out varies by grade level:
Kindergarten - May check out 1 book
1st - 4th Grades - May check out 2 books
5th Grade - May check out 3 books
If students need additional books for research and/or reading pleasure, arrangements may be made with the media center specialist.
Overdue Policy
Books are due back in one week. There are no fines for overdue books but books that are permanently lost or damaged must be paid for as soon as possible. If a lost book is paid for and then found before the end of the school year the students may either keep the book or return it for a full refund.
