Media Center
Welcome to Rhoades' Library/Media Center
Eric Schmidt, Media Center Specialist
The media center/library is a place where students and teachers are assisted in accessing, evaluating, and using media resources so they may have an enriched and successful academic experience. The media center staff considers the opportunity to provide this assistance as a privilege and look forward to helping all our students to "get smarter"!
Hours
The media center is open from 8:55 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday-Friday, for open checkout.
Checkout Procedures
Kindergartners may check out 1 book at a time, but will leave their books in their classroom.
First graders may check out 1 book to keep in their classroom during the first quarter. During the remainder of the school year, they may check out two books at a time and may take one of the two books home.
Second through Fifth graders may check out two books at a time and may take both home if they so choose.
All books checked out may be kept by the student for a period of two weeks. Renewals may be completed if there are no "holds" by other students on the book.
With the privilege of checking out books, comes responsibility. If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the book has to be replaced.
Classes may schedule a time to utilize the resources within the media center for projects or other special assignments.
