Media Center
Miss Laura Fowler, Media Specialist
The Leisure Park Elementary School Library/Media Center strives to help students to develop a love of reading and to become life-long learners. Students may check out library books daily. Each class at Leisure Park also attends a weekly library class to participate in story time or in a library skills lesson. In addition, our library works to assist students and teachers in becoming effective users of ideas and information by providing access to all materials that enrich and support the curriculum of the school.

2nd Grade Fan Club
Students in second grade have the opportunity to become members of the Frog and Toad Fan Club. Second graders can earn membership in the fan club by reading all four of Arnold Lobel’s books about best friends Frog and Toad out loud to a parent, grandparent, babysitter, older sibling or any other adult who enjoys a good story!
The Frog and Toad books are available at our school library, at the public library and at area bookstores. The listeners sign their names on the Frog and Toad membership form each time they hear one of the Frog and Toad books. (The forms were sent home by the second grade classroom teachers in August.) When all four books have been read aloud to someone, the second grader returns the signed form to Ms. Fowler in the library. At that time, the student receives a Frog and Toad Fan Club membership card and the student’s name is displayed on the Frog and Toad Fan Club poster. In May, all members are invited to attend the Frog and Toad Fan Club party in the library!
